I work for The Steam Team as a flood and fire mitigation estimator. I basically go out to residential and commercial jobs that have either had a fire or a flood, and work closely with the project manager to determine what work needs to be done and what equipment needs to be used. Once we have determined these factors, I sketch the areas affected and take measurements of the materials that are being removed. I then take this info and imput it into a program that we use with the insurance companies. We then meet with the insurance adjusters to give them all of the info we have, including the estimate; and help them with anything they may need in order to get the company paid for services provided. I also am responsible for marketing the comany name, and bringing in new business.
