Ms. Hensley is the Director of the Austin, Texas Parks and Recreation Department.Before Austin, Ms. Hensley served as the Director for the City of Phoenix, Arizona Parks and Recreation Department, Director for the City of San Jose, California Department of Parks, Recreation and Neighborhood Services, and Director of Virginia Beach, Virginia Department of Parks and Recreation, among others. Along with solid leadership skills accumulated over almost two decades workingin the parks and recreation field, Ms. Hensley has a proven track record of getting results and ademonstrated commitment to community involvement, youth, and neighborhood services. Ms. Hensley holds a master’s degree in education/recreation administration and a bachelor’s degree in education from the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville.
