JIM WIMBERLY
President, Texas Disposal Systems (TDS)

Jim Wimberly, President of Texas Disposal Systems Inc. and its affiliated companies, has over 30 years of experience in customer service, operations, and aviation. As COO of Southwest Airlines Co., Jim was instrumental in creating and maintaining a unique culture of legendary customer service, excellent employee relations, high productivity, efficient operations, and an unsurpassed safety record. Prior to joining Southwest in 1985, Jim served as Manager of William P. Hobby Airport and Ellington Field for the City of Houston.

As a long time believer in servant leadership, Jim recognizes the timeless benefit of putting others’ needs first. Consistently adhering to this principle helps foster an environment where employees and customers are respected, trusted, and appreciated.

A native Houstonian, Jim graduated in 1975 from The University of Texas – Permian Basin with a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration. He is a member of the Board of Directors for Ronald McDonald House Charities of Austin, and has served on numerous advisory groups for the federal government.

Jim and his wife, Margie, have been married since 1973, and have been blessed with 2 wonderful sons. Preston works with Texas Monthly Magazine, and Jackson is a student at New York University.
